O'Cain]; newsletter, 14 Feb. 1968, of the W.E.B. DuBois Clubs of America; and notice, Feb. 1968, "Doesn't anyone give a damn about the Murder in Orangeburg!", memeographed flyer annoucing a meeting of the W.E.B. DuBois Club at the University of Chicago. Also includes booklet, Jan. 1968, War, Racism, the Movement: As We See It, published by the W.E.B. DuBois Clubs of America, discussing the war in Viet Nam and offering a Marxist interpretation of contemporary events.

College professor and linguist. O'Cain was born in South Carolina in 1943 and graduated from the College of Charleston in 1965. He received a masters degree and a Ph. D. from the University of Chicago, and was a professor of English at the University of South Carolina.
